At NGO Monitor this week… Week ending Feb 8st 2008

February 8th, 2008 by Shlomo Lockerman | Category: Human Rights Watch, NGO Monitor

On Sunday, February 2, NGO Monitor published ourmonthly digest. The Focus article presents the positions of NGOs in regards to the upcoming Durban II conference. We also presented a number of news articles discussing such issues such as the lack of condemnations of attacks that have recently killed civilians in Israel, and the boycott campaigns against Jewish philanthropists.

On Monday, February 3, NGO Monitor published an analysis of the Israel and Palestinian chapter in Human Rights Watch’s 2008 World Report.

On Thursday, February 7, we had a letter in the Wall Street Journal discussing the need for vigilance by NGOs, many of whom, like the media, were recently taken in by a Hamas run propaganda campaign regarding Gaza’s power supply. The letter argues that a universal stands previously presented in the paper should apply not just to journalists but to NGOs as well.
