On July 2, editor of Eye on the UN, Anne Bayefsky, gave an interview to ABC Radio National expressing concern that Durban 2009 may be a repeat of 2001. The interview begins with Bayesky discussing the impact of the NGO Forum at Durban 2001 and the severe consequences resulting from the NGO Declaration which revived the canard that Zionism is racism. As a delegate at Durban 2001, Bayefsky witnessed how participating NGOs were guided by anti-Semitism in their campaign to single out and demonize Israel. Bayefsky maintains that Durban 2009 may be marred by similar activity.  According to Bayefsky, the only way to prevent such an outcome is by following Canada’s lead and boycotting the conference.
